Jim Bzdafka, Senior Pastor A native of northeast Ohio, Jim was All-Ohio in two sports before attending North Carolina State University on a football scholarship. After earning a B.A. in Journalism, he went on to earn his Masters in Business Management from Baldwin-Wallace College. His career in business began at AT&T, where he held several different positions in marketing management. As the information technology revolution was growing in the mid-1980s, Jim transferred to the MCI Corporation to oversee the Sales and Marketing departments in Northeastern Ohio. His broad background in the telecommunications industry enabled him to join a regional consulting firm, managing a highly profitable joint venture between itself and MCI.
During these years, Jim was an active member of a large church where he had the opportunity to learn, lead, and teach. A growing faith prompted a desire to devote the best hours of his day toward growth and dividends which do not appear on financial statements. Jim resigned his business position and moved his family to attend seminary. After graduating with a Masters in Divinity from Columbia Biblical Seminary, he was ordained at Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, OH and served as pastor of a church in Brecksville, OH before coming to Cleveland’s western suburbs as the founding pastor of Providence Church. Jim and his wife, Jenny, have three children and currently reside in Avon Lake.
