Leadership and teaching positions at Providence Church come with a large responsibility. These roles are typically reserved for members of the church and a personal interview and training process usually follows interest. Providence members who feel they have the gift of teaching or who have a passion for leading a specific ministry are encouraged to stretch themselves by pursuing a leadership position.
FLOCKS Group Leader (commitment: lead a FLOCKS Group; care for members in the group) FLOCKS leaders are individuals or couples in the church who desire to lead a Christian fellowship in their area. There is no set time commitment on FLOCKS leaders - they simply desire to love, lead, shepherd, and serve those in their groups. FOCUS Workshop Leader (commitment: one hour each Sunday for eight weeks, plus preparation) Members of Providence Church have the opportunity to facilitate the learning of God’s truth in a Sunday morning FOCUS Workshop. Teachers lead adults or teens during one of the Sunday services in a Bible, book, or topical study. Women’s/Men’s Bible Study Leader (commitment: one semester, preparation and meeting time) Bible study leaders guide a discussion group through books chosen by the appropriate ministry team. Group leaders should be able to teach and facilitate discussion in a small group atmosphere, as well as provide care and guidance to those in their groups. Ministry Team Leader (commitment: meetings, participate in ministry events and projects) Ministry teams work under the direction of the elders to help lead specific ministries of the church. Each ministry team leader is nominated for the position by the nominating committee and affirmed by the congregation for a two-year term. Ministry Team Leaders work together with 3-6 others to head the following ministries of the church: Administration, Assimilation, Children’s, Cross-Cultural Missions, Domestic Missions, Facility and Grounds, Nominating, Women’s, and Youth.
