Little did I realize what a profound affect the Women’s Ministry would have on my life as I walked into Providence two years ago when I was searching for a closer relationship with God. Over those two years I have not “only” gotten to know so many wonderful ladies (of all ages) but more importantly, I’ve gotten to know my Lord and Savior in a deeper and more intimate way. What a joy!
I’ve had the opportunity to attend a bible study every quarter. Each study has enabled me to grow in my faith and in the knowledge of who God is, what He has done for me and all creation, and how I can be an effective witness to His love, grace, and mercy in a world that desperately needs to hear the Great Good News. It truly doesn’t get any better than that!
The many social gatherings (breakfasts, dinners, Christmas event) are organized beautifully and deliciously, and always include a speaker who shares how God has worked in and through her.
But I really think the women’s prayer group that meets for an hour on the second and fourth Friday mornings of each month, is my favorite! Nothing unites us as believers as sharing our burdens and our joys – and then praying about them! We truly rejoice with those who rejoice (and laugh a lot), and mourn with those who mourn.
I thank God so frequently for His Spirit leading me to Providence, and for the wonderful Women’s Ministry that touches so many of us who really need it!
